Charlie Sheen reportedly paid his ex-wife Brooke Mueller's bail following her arrest in Colorado on assault and cocaine possession charges.
The actor stepped up to post the $11,000
bail for the mother of his twin sons after her family -- reported to be
furious at her behavior -- refused to pay, according to RadarOnline.com.
"They actually wanted to leave her in jail,"
the source told the gossip website. "Brooke's family is done with her,
she has to get straight or she is going to die."
Mueller was arrested early Saturday after a
woman told police officers at the music venue Belly Up in Aspen, Colo.
that she assaulted her.
Officers located Mueller, 34, at the nearby
nightclub Escobar shortly after 12:00am Saturday. She was arrested and
charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and a felony
count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
She was taken to Pitkin County Jail, where
she posted bond of $11,000 and was released early Saturday. She is
scheduled to appear in court Dec. 19.
Mueller is the third wife of the former "Two and a Half Men" star. The couple had a notoriously tumultuous relationship both before and after their divorce.
In March, Los Angeles police accompanied
Mueller to Sheen's home and removed the couple's twin boys from Sheen's
care after Mueller claimed that the actor was physically and verbally
abusive to her.
